The project is underway!
This summer donations to Better Without Mercury reached a level to begin work and just in time for the dry season in Colombia. This is allowing the miners to dry out contaminated settlement ponds, rent an excavator to prepare the new secure tailings storage area and more.
These funds will get the project to the next phase which is to re-test the area for contamination, backfill with clean soil and regrade, but the whole plan requires significant additional investment. Want to fund the greening process?
